| I follow what you're saying because my instructor told me the very same thing when I took my course. There are however instances where you'll have to reposition your hands on the wheel to maintain the ideal 9 & 3 position. For instance if you were entering a tight 180 degree bend you just can't dial in enough steering before your arms cross over and lock to turn the corner successfully. You need to reposition going in to be able to dial in enough steering before locking your arms. After watching the video again though it seems you're right and the corners could have been turned without a reposition on the wheel.
